Support » Fixing WordPress » How to receive variables and display in a page

  • We have a sister website that would like to redirect their user to our site. This is via http post form with some variables.

We would like to direct it to a page which will then read the passed-variables and display on the page e.g. welcoming with their name and their ID details etc.

What are the codes necessary to do this?

  • It is very easy but not very secure. The same origin policy is applicable only for browser side programming languages so you can use PHP to get data from one domain and show on other.
You can use input type hidden and set some data, but someone can easily change it through ‘inspect element’.
Set form action to the page url of the other domain where you want to display welcome message.
On you other domain, you can create a custom template page and use $_POST to get form the variables.
