• I recently tried to log into my wordpress.org account and it says there is no record of my username or email.

Can’t find a way to reach a tech support person and only find these forums.

my site is down and can’t find anyway to get back in and restore it.

Note: my site is not associated with my current user name. I had to create this one in hopes of finding a way to restore the old one.

I’m positive my blog is with wordpress.org and not wordpress.com

There is no correlation between the credentials you use for your self hosted site and any user account you may use on this support forum. While you are using wordpress.org software on your site, it isn’t connected in any way to your account here.

All support is offered on a volunteer basis, there is no official tech support group.

Would you feel comfortable posting a link to the site you are having trouble with? Maybe someone can set you on the right path by taking a look at your site and where it might be hosted.

You logged in to post this. Where are you tryin to log into? As Clayton James wrote (waves to Clayton) the account here cannot be used anywhere else.

The URL associated with the site was forwarded to a different site on the hosting account by someone at my company (not me) by mistake. So now I can’t even find original “—–“.wordpress.org site. It only shows up if I use archive.org…

the saved login / pw that we have written down doesn’t seem to work and wordpress.org says there is no account associated with the username or email. And for good measure I attempted the login on to wordpress.com and no luck either

What makes no sense is that I get email from the wordpress site about moderating comments to my work email – the email account I used to create the blog… and yet, when I attempt to log into wordpress, it says, no account associated with that email.

    @tyouse

wordpress.org says there is no account associated with the username or email.

That’s because as previously mentioned, “wordpress.org” is in no way connected to your web site. They share no credentials whatsoever. This site is “wordpress.org”. Your site is using wordpress.org software, but your login credentials for your website are in no way associated with this site. (or if you mean that’s the error you receive while logging into your own site at yoursitename.com/wp-admin, then the credentials probably don’t exist on that site)

And again, I’ll ask.. Would you feel comfortable posting a link to the site you are having trouble with? What is the domain name listed in the “from” field, in the email notification you get that says there are comments waiting moderation? 🙂

    this is the site: https://web.archive.org/web/20180105135503/http://10r90.com/

The replies to the content of that site go to my work account – the work account that wordpress says does not exist.

The forwarding DNS for 10R90.com got reset and now I can’t find the wordpress.org account associated with the blog to update the DNS.

Will probably have to recreate the whole thing on a different platform as I don’t want to deal with WP.org if they have no customer service.

I had to create a new account to log in to post this.

The account log-in info that I have saved on file is not working.

Somehow the blog is back up… but I can’t log in to update it.

So – who can I contact about recovering the log in info for 10R90.com

I had given up on it and just bought hosting for the domain via our godaddy account and now magically it reappears. But I can’t log in to update it.

    this is weird.

the blog is now back online – AND my ORIGINAL account (not the one I;m using to write this) worked! I was able to log into the dashboard and add this account as an admin for 10R90.com… and just like that, the original account is no longer working. Says no user exists, even though when I log into the dashboard with this account, I can see the original user account listed as a user…

Ok – this makes sense now.

It works when I put my site in there followed by the “/wp-admin”…

So when the domain name was forwarded to a different URL by a co-worker by mistake, it made logging into the account impossible. Once that was resolved, I was able to log in the way I had previously.

I have a few sites on WordPress.com and their login process is a bit different, as you can log into wordpress.com directly and manage your sites from their dashboard.
