Support » Fixing WordPress » how to put an image as the blog`s title?

  • hi! i want the title of my site to appear in a specific font. As its not possible to include font in the site, for browser to download it together with the site, and to show the title correctly with the specific font, if its not installed on the viewer PC, the only solution is to replace the sites title text with an image, where the title is with the right font. Ive made the image, but i cannot get it in the place. Here is the code from the header file:

    <head profile=”″>
    <meta http-equiv=”Content-Type” content=”<?php bloginfo(‘html_type’); ?>; charset=<?php bloginfo(‘charset’); ?>” />
    <title><?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?><?php wp_title(); ?><?php if ( is_single() ) { ?> » Blog Archive <?php } ?></title>

    its full with definitions, so i dont quite understand, where and what do i have to change, where to put the “img src” in.

    can somebody please help?

  • Well, think about a flashpage instead, then the system displaying the flash can use the fonts if you embedded them in the flash. I think in your case this is the most simple thing you could do.

    no way! i dont believe its that complicated. Isn`t the text a variable, that I can replace with a constant, an image?

    Okay I tell you the truth: To handle an image you need to use the <img> Elements (and that has the src you are looking for). The bad news is, that you can not put the <img> element inside the <title> element.

    Am I right that you are very new to HTML and such stuff? Then you are really on the hard way if you want to do it all on your own. I truly suggest you that you pick a theme that comes close to what you need and you take a read of the sourcecode of it until you quite understand how it is done.

    The other way would be that you start with HTML. One of the fastest ways to start with HTML is to learn HTML 2.0 first. The Specification is very well written and not too technical.

    You’re in the right template file but you’re looking in the head section when you should be looking in the body section. Try replacing the blog title tag in that section with something like:

    <a href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>/"><img height="XX" width="XXX" src="http://www.XXX.XXX/wp-content/themes/XXX/_img/header.png" border="0" alt="XXX" /></a>

    Or you can make a php call something like:
    <a href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>/"><img src="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/images/XXX.gif" border="0" alt="XXX" /></a>

    What about using the default theme and using the build in header editor? Wouldn’t that be an option?
