    Hi,
our backup software indicates that the table wp_cerber_files contains more than 156,000 lines. Under Tools>Diagnostics I can’t find a table that even comes close to this dimension and deleting it using the functions offered does not clean wp_cerber_files.

How can the table be cleared? Is there a risk?

    Thanks for help … Horst

Hi! The right approach is to add the table to the list of tables not to back up. I mean there should be a list of DB tables to be ignored by the backup software. In case of any trouble with the DB, WP Cerber will restore the table on the next scan.

    Hi Gioni,
    thanks for your reply!

I’m sorry if I didn’t express myself properly. The information about the table size comes from the backup system, but the backup has enough time and space for it.

I am more concerned with deleting unnecessary data again and again to keep the database lean and fast. The number of entries seemed very high to me, because the website has not even 1000 pages. I also did not want to just delete blindly.

Therefore my question is a bit more precise: What is the table wp_cerber_files for? What information is stored in it? Is this GDPR relevant?

Thanks for further information in advance … Horst

    Hello WP Cerber team,
I second to above question/request. It’s not an issue of backup but for normal productive use. Why there should be xx MB table existing in the db when the “Site Integrity” check was previously used but later was decided to stop using it. In my case the wp_cerber_files occupies 60% of my PROD database.
The table is also not listed in database tables info section (under WP Cerber – Tools – Diagnostics), imho should be there (together with option to purge it). Similarly as you nicely have for cerber_acl table.

Please add this to some future release.

    Many thanks
(otherwise very happy WP Cerber user)
