    Dear MC4WP Team,

First off, congratulations & many thanks for building this wonderful product. It is designed very well & works as documented. I had a question for which I was not able to find anything in documentation or support (hence asking).

Mailchimp provides an “Update Profile Form” as per this link. This update profile form can be launched with a link on a typical newsletter sent via Mailchimp. We need this form on a WordPress page for our own reasons. And I wanted to check if I can use MC4WP to allow an existing subscriber to update his profile (as opposed to signing up as a new subscriber).

We have a membership website so we know the email address of the logged in users, we want to give them a way to modify their subscription profile if they wish to do so in future. It’s a pretty standard requirement, we take an input during sign-up & want to provide a link if the user wishes to change his mind later.

Kindly let me know how this can be achieved.

    Thank you!

    Hey @pkverma99,

Thanks for reaching out to us and for your kind words.

Please note that we do not have any integration with the MailChimp hosted forms. You will have to manually copy that update profile link and add it to your website wherever you need it. There is no automated way to do it.

Our plugin can only check the details of a user that exists in MailChimp when our form data is sent to MailChimp.

Hi @hchouhan – Thanks for your response. I noticed that I can embed a MC4WP form on a WordPress page using shortcode & there are also hooks provided.

I am assuming, it would be possible (as custom development) to read a user’s profile from Mailchimp (through their APIs) and pre-populate MC4WP form which would make it look like the user is updating his profile. And as you said MC4WP plugin can check for details of a user that exists in MailChimp when our form data is sent to MailChimp. Then the profile would get updated correctly.

Does that sound workable? I know it’s not a support query but would appreciate your advice as I plan to buy premium plugin but want to know if this is doable before I make the purchase.

    Thanks again.

    Hey @pkverma99,

This might be possible using custom code but we have never come across any user doing this using our plugin.

You will first need to identify the user details and then create custom API calls to MailChimp to pull the data.

Also, if the user exists in WordPress & MailChimp.com, then you can use the “User Sync” feature in our plugin to update their details.
