How to properly add async/defer atribute to enqueued script? | WordPress.org

I have seen solutions to this but they seem like a bit hacky, hope I’m missing something here and there may be already a proper way to do this.

I have a question: can it be used directly in the enqueue script code?

wp_enqueue_script( 'bootstrap-js', 'https://stackpath.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.4.1/js/bootstrap.min.js', array( 'jquery' ), '3.4.1', true );

Okey I assume it can’t be done directly with wp_enqueue_script. Will in the future at least this be supported?

Okey please correct me if I’m wrong all it takes is to add:
```
wp_get_script_tag(
	array(
		'src'      => 'RELATIVE_PATH/FILE.js',
		'defer' => true,
	)
);
```
alongside the usual wp_enqueue script …
