• As topic title: how to prevent post owner to access back end while edit his/her own post “comment”?????

When this option “Allow edit of posts with comments:” checked at the back end, if the post has comment “Edit” link, the post owner will access back end to edit the comment. How to prevent that happened???? or Can this work on front end instead of jumping into back end???

By the way, the widget “My approval” only works on admin, correct??? What if post owner would like to approval the comment??? Can this also not access to back end???

    Thank you very much.

1: Never thought about this one – havent planned to include frontend management of comments
2: As ar as I am aware it is only administrators that can approve comments, I might consider to create a profile Frontier Editor that can approve comments, but most likely this will still be from the back end. Reason for creating a new profile, is that I dont want to change capabilities of existing profiles.

I dont believe it is the intention of wordprss that Authors approve or edit comments – But i might be wrong 🙂

    Hi, finnj:

First of all, thank you very much for your reply, really appreciate it.

The reason that I was asking because I would like to have some certain level users that can approve comments for their own posts, but not touch back end area.

Would like the widget can add “role” selecting function, so when the level up users logged in, this widget will show up, if not, the widget won’t show up (like current, only admin can see this widget). Then, if they have comments that need approval, they can edit/view/delete from front end without touching back end area (only administrator can do both front and back).

For example, if role “Author” has been selected from widget selection, then only “author, editor, and admin” logged in users can see this widget and they can approve/edit/view/delete comments from front. Can you create a shortcode that can add to a page, so this way the comment actions can do from front.

Do you think this function will be possible to add on to the next version of Frontier Post, PLEASE????

    Thank you so much.

    Hi,

The tricky part is that they only should approve own comments. I am very carefull when it comes to changing standard wordpress security.

Editor should be able to approve comments by default, but from the backend.

About moving comments approval to the front end – it will take some time.

In other words, I will consider it, but it wont happen within the next couple of months – I have too much work in the real world.
