    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    TablePress does add custom access capabilities, which allow controlling what a user role is allowed to do. You can set those with e.g. the “Role Manager” component of the “Members” plugin from https://wordpress.org/plugins/members/ . Basically, you’ll just have take away the unwanted capabilities from the “Author” user role.

    Note that you can only strip them from editing tables in general, there’s no possibility to only disallow editing published tables, as TablePress can not distinguish between published and unpublished tables.
