[Resolved] How to post to WordPress remotely?

  • I have created an independent page (in php) where i can type in my blogs. Yes, its like a web-based blogging application. I have tried posting my blogs from there to my wordpress blog via database access. But that’s cheating! (‘v’) What I really want is to post via xml over http. Can somebody help me with this? I dont want to create a plugin in wordpress that can handle my request. Is this possible? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Have you look at Blog_by_Email or Weblog_Client?

XML-RPC. Small matter of coding but WP supports it and it works quite well within the limits of the MetaWeblog API which may be numerous depending on what you’re doing.

    Thank you MichaelH and ccoupe!

Michael, I have alread checked on some Weblog Clients. My app’s more like WriteToMyBlog. Tried to post from there to my wordpress in my localhost but got these error codes: 505 & 403 (w/c is Bad login/pass combination…dont know why when the UN & PWD i used are valid users). I also have a wordpress in a public server, got no more errors but nothing was posted!

Coupe, yes i have come across this xml-rpc through my research. Its interesting but its a bit over my head. Here’s the code for xmlrpc.php that comes along w/ wordpress:

[moderated – code deleted please paste a wordpress.pastebin.ca if necessary ]

I understand that this handles the reques

The code’s too long. I want to utilize just the login_pass_ok() and blogger_newPost() functions only. I think these are enough to get my blogs posted/published to WordPress. I need someone to explain things further to me. Can you be of help? Thanks! (‘v’)

Hi Michael! I tried to post again using WriteToMyBlog, it works now! heheheh C(‘v’)D
I’ll check if they have any API i can use. (I also hope, its not as complicated as WordPress API…ooops! no offense meant to the WordPress developers.)
