How to place sidebar on all pages, not just home page?

  • I’m a newbie blogger and am running the latest version of wordpress. My theme is Very Plain Text which is two column and I can’t seem to figure out how to place my sidebar and ads on all pages and not just the home page. Is it possible to place the sidebar on all pages and, of so, how? I would be grateful to anyone who can help. My website is http://www.hecmanhoops.com if anyone needs to preview what I mean. Thanks.

  • looks like the template you using for posts does not have sidebars

    What are using as template for posts it should be single.php.

    That’s correct, when I post, there seems to be only space for my text but no option to include the sidebar. Does this completely preclude me from adding the sidebar to my post pages if I continue to use the Very Plain Text theme? Thank you for responding so quickly.

    seems as if the theme you using or have setup has not used the templates alike normal theme as if you using single.php it would have code at bottom to include sidebars.

    <?php get_sidebar(); ?>

    I’m a newbie at this and have no technical training. It’s a miracle I got the site up and running at all :). Is there any way I can add the option? I don’t see it as an option at the bottom of the post template when I type a new post. Thank you for your kind assistance. I have been to India 12 times.

    It will not be on when you post in admin panel it is in template in your theme is this a theme you installed if so what is the name of theme.

    It is veryplaintxt 4.6.1 by scott allan wallick.
