 * I have a -ton- of draft posts and would like to organize them somehow. When I
   go into the draft folder, there’s like a hundred posts and it’s really frustrating
   to scroll through and find what I want to work on.
 * I used to use edit flow. It added post statuses across the top of the admin “
   all posts” screen, so instead of “Published, Draft, Pending…” I would see “Published,
   Draft, Pending, Ideas, Old Junk, In Progress…” Unfortunately, that plugin is
   long gone.
 * I’ve tried replacing those statuses with categories. For example, simply filter
   for a specific category in the posts screen and there you go. It created a lot
   of overhead work and it wasn’t as easy to use as I would like.
 * I’ve also used custom post types. Having a custom type for “ideas,” etc. works
   well. But it’s really not very useful (or friendly) in regards to workflow or
   when it comes to this kind of organization.
 * I’ve also tried adding custom post statuses through functions.php. I could get
   it to work, partially, but in the end the solutions failed. (I do a little PHP
   stuff now-and-then, but it’s really not my thing.)
 * Any suggestions for a plugin, a link to ready-to-roll code, etc? I have searched
   like crazy for something that will allow me to organize my draft posts and have
   tried a lot of code from various websites, all to no avail.
 * Thanks!

 * I found your posts while searching for a solution for the same issue. I have
   lots of drafts and I want to organize them! I’m thinking about writing a plugin
   for it. I’ll update this thread if I get the plugin completed 🙂

 * Update: I just completed the first version of my plugin [Organize Drafts](https://wordpress.org/plugins/lsw-organize-drafts/).
   It allows sorting drafts into “draft types,” which I think of as folders. If
   you (or anyone else) tries it out, let me know what you think. If there’s interest,
   I may add more features.

 * It’s a brilliant idea, LinSoftware. I’ve got 183 posts, of which maybe 60 are
   still in draft form.
 * What would be really useful is if we could add folders, and rename them.
 * I have 12 different subject categories on my site, and the way WordPress works,
   I can’t even filter down so I see just my drafts, which is crazy.
 * Anyway, a bit of feedback. Wish I could code! But I’m a writer and musician,
   and I’m busy enough creating content.
 * Best wishes
    Paul
