    I’ve answered the original poster via email, but I’ll post it here as well for the sake of clarity, and to gather more information for development of this feature:

    There is not currently a way to retrieve images from S3 automatically with EWWW IO, but it is on the short term road map for the next few months.

    For those who are interested in the ability to optimize remotely hosted images, please provide the information below.

    1. What plugin are you using to transfer your images to S3 storage?
    2. Please turn on the EWWW IO debugging option, and then copy the attachment metadata from an image in the Media Library (viewable when in List mode, not Grid mode)?
