• Hi guys,

I am starting a version of my blog in a different language (arabic). In the admin area/appearance the side bar widget is really a pain in the neck, especially when i need to modify any widget code and i open it. check it here.

    Help guys. PLEAASE.

Maybe the solution is to change its location to the left side? how can i do that?

  • Hi racas01,

It looks like the widget is opening off screen on the right, is that what you’re concerned with?

    Hi Drew,

exactly my problem. Do you have any idea on how to fix it?

It seems like your locale isn’t set properly. If you’re using the Arabic language, your Dashboard should be Right-to-left, which looks like this: http://cl.ly/image/3w0l041C3v1R

Are you on the latest version of WordPress (3.5) and have you tried:

    • Deactivating all plugins
    • Changing to the default theme

I don’t have a lot of experience with RTL, let me see what I can find out for you.

That’s it Drew. I am not really into it also. it is a sub-blog. but this makes it super difficult to work with.

    I really appreciate your help.

It seems like maybe you need to add an rtl.css file to your theme. You can find more information about this here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Right_to_Left_Language_Support

Let me see if I can find somebody who knows more about RTL.

Another thing you can try is in your wp-config.php file, the language is specified via define('WPLANG', 'ar');. Look for that and add this after it:

    $text_direction = 'rtl';

    Drew’s screenshot looks proper.

I’ve downloaded Arabic language files for WordPress 3.5 from http://ar.wordpress.org/, and the Widgets screen looks like this in RTL: http://i46.tinypic.com/2zyzon9.jpg.

You should try deactivating all plugins and switching to the default theme.

I’ll try it Drew and come back to you later on. hope it works.

Is it a must to deactivate all the plugins Sergey?

Anyway, guys thanks a lot for your assistance. Here’s a bit of lol for you link redacted
