How to modify the "blogs" slug in mu?

  • Gday folks!

I’m new to WP MU, hope some of u can help.. 🙂

I am using wordpress as a news/resource site, and am considering the WP MU as a way of also including blog-posts.

Now, how would you go about to change the URL structure? Now it looks like this:
    Main install: example.com/blogs/post-title
    New blog install: example.com/user-name/post-title

I want it to look like this:
    Main install: example.com/post-title
    New blog install: example.com/blogging/username/post-title

I noticed solutions on how to remove the “blogs” for the main/first install. But how do you add a subdirectory before the others in the network?

    Any help is appreciated 🙂

  • WordPress MultiSite uses complex URL rewriting to map between the blog’s virtual URL and the corresponding physical URLs of upload directories etc.

Any exceptions, such as you want, would upset that. I’d suggest trying to keep it standard.

You actually can;t rename the /blog/ slug currently.

I want it to look like this:
    Main install: example.com/post-title
    New blog install: example.com/blogging/username/post-title

Then put your multsite install at example.com/blogging/.
Put a single install at example.com.
