I notice when moderating ads, viewing the ad content before approving, that the system automatically makes me the author of the ad after publishing. It then adds it to my account and links their username to my ads. I notice while trying to change it that there’s an option for an “Anonymous” user. I select it and it then applies. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way to approve ads? Maybe make that anonymous user option stick when admin publishes. An option for admins to approve or deny from the front end would be handy.

Hmm i cannot seem to replicate this issue. Basically when you edit an Ad from wp-admin / Classifieds panel the Author should never change (unless changed manually of course).

Are you using latest WPAdverts version (1.1.1)? If so then try disabling WPAdverts add-ons and see if the problem persists, maybe one of add-ons is causing it.

I have the latest versions of everything.

It doesn’t do it with registered member ads. It only does it to me when its a moderated ad.

If its a non-member ad and I first click edit to review for approval, it shows the author field blank. After clicking publish, it then displays me as the author. I then have to type or select the “Anonymous” option and click update. It then sticks. So its a two step process right now.

I have this issue too. Unregistered users’ ads move to the admin who updated it.

Sorry for the late reply, i should have a fix for this problem, download the file here https://raw.githubusercontent.com/simpliko/wpadverts/master/assets/js/adverts-admin.js (in browser click File -> Save as), and upload it to wpadverts/assets/js/ folder.

Make sure to clear your browser cache and try to approve an Ad again.

The same fix will be in WPAdverts 1.1.2 which will be released this month although i cannot tell when exactly.

    That seemed to work. Thanks!

This still does it intermittently @gwin. Even now on a much faster server. Any suggestions?

Hmm, i am not sure, are you able to replicate this on the demo site?
