If I understand correctly, you want your front-page to show tiles, and only tiles, is that correct?
If you just want to have your homepage show tiles, with your theme still ‘around’ it, you can simply create a page to use as your home page and put the WP Tiles shortcode on it [wp-tiles]. With all the default settings, this will display your latest 20 posts. You probably want to enable pagination as well then.
If you want to have WP Tiles display ‘full screen’ without the rest of your theme around it (like this), you probably need to custom code a page template for your home page.

How easy it is to achieve your desired effect depends on your theme (and how much you try to get from it of course). You can usually start by taking the existing full width template of your theme and duplicating it. Then strip out what you don’t need, and you’re almost there. Then you can follow the above steps again: create a page with tha page template to show on the front page, and add the WP Tiles shortcode, probably with pagination enabled.
