how to make the frontpage of wordpress as the root domain without slug

i have a wordpress installation ,
i did made a static page and i made it as a front page by changing the front page settings in the admin panel , the point is that when i access the installation domain for example http://www.site.com then i redirected to http://www.site.com/slug_of_static_page
where slug_of_static_page is the “slug_of_static_page” i created before , i want the root domain to show the contents of this page but without that redirection is that possible?
