how to make sure which version i run !?

    hello

    where can i see which version i am running!?

    i am abit confused

    i thought that i have updated to version 4.1 final
    but if i look into the dashboard then there i can read

    plz upgrade to the version 4.1

    where – (!!!) can i have a closer look onto the version?

    i need to know which version i run?

    The least technical way to check is for you to visit your WordPress site and add /readme.html to your URL.

    So if your site was http://example.com/ visit http://example.com/readme.html in your browser.

    Also can go into your wp-includes/version.php and see what the version is there. Both ways will get you the answer you desire

    thx for the hints

    the readme says that i run version 4.0

    so i copy and past over this version the new one.
    is this okay`?

    terrific

    i copy and pasted the whole new version onto the old files – but
    after that i get the notices that i have to upgrade… this is somewhat
    terrible to understand…
    i do not know what this means

    Did you see a message directing you to //yoursite.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php to run the upgrade script after you copied the new version 4.1 files to your site, or were you able to log right back into your dashboard?
