How to make parent categories unclickable text?

I need to make parent categories a “nonclickable” text. I need to separate the categories in groups, so I thought of making subcats, but I don’t want the parentcats to be clickable (an its consecuence “all posts within this cat” search). Is there a clean way of doing this?
