  • Resolved lutetia

    Hi all,

My site uses the Prosense theme. The content area is white, and the blog background (colour that appears on either side) is grey.

When it loads, however, the whole page looks grey for a few moments, before the white comes into view beneath the text.

I wanted to change the grey background for a pattern, but because of this delayed loading of the actual white page, the entire page shows the background image momentarily beneath the text. It looks terrible.

So I’m wondering if there’s a way to get the white page to load before the background image?

For now, I have removed the background image, but you can see that the grey background colour loads before the white page.

Here’s a link to my site

Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be fixed?

  • Hmm, just noticed this issue does not happen on my Amazon bookstore page, which uses a special page template….i.e. there’s no grey flash before the text loads, just the white page shows.

Please, does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I can’t add a background image until I can resolve this issue, as otherwise the page looks a mess with the text loading directly on the image.

I’ve been able to resolve this issue by installing the W3 Total Cache plugin, which has really helped speed up page loading.

UPDATE: I switched from W3 Total Cache, to WP Super Cache, which seems better suited/sufficient for websites hosted on shared servers.

Both work well and have really made my site load faster.
