Support » Fixing WordPress » How to make future-dated posts

  • I have seen a few topics about future-dated posts but my needs are a bit different and I am hoping that there may be a solution for me.

I will be writing a blog-like series of short stories set in the future. AS such I would like WP to behave as if the current date were some future date but otherwise act normally.

Unfortunately I am using a shared hosting environment, so the simple solution (post dating the system clock) isn’t possible.

I am running the latest version of WP in multi-user mode; I only want the future dating functionality on one blog.

  • You should be able to set the date in the same box where the ‘Publish’ button is located.

    You will see the text:

    Publish immediately Edit

Just click the ‘Edit’ link and set the date and time into the future. When you click the ‘Ok’ button after changing the date, the ‘Publish’ button becomes a ‘Schedule’ button.
