How to make footer show up

Hi, so I’ve been playing around with the CSS as much as I could and I’m out of ideas. I cannot make my footer show up on my theme, and when I do, it’s floating on top of the layout and not at the bottom where I want it.

I have a feeling that it’s because my header, blog area and side bar have absolute position with exact locations, so if anyone can figure out how to make the footer appear at the very bottom, I’d greatly appreciate it!
