How to make all images the same size (13 posts)

I've tried to make all the images that are on one page the same size. I've downloaded Regenerate Thumbnails and the images are still the same size.

I use Gimp (not a pro though). Would it be easier to size them in gimp before uploading? The problem is some images are distorted after resizing to match the others.

    What do you recommend?

You cannot change one dimension of an image without changing the other in proportion and still keep an undistorted image.

There are several techniques you can use to put images in equal height rows. Do a Google search on 'wordpress rows of equal height" to find various articles.

One possible (although not the 'coolest' or best) way to create cross-browser-compatible equal height rows is to put the images in the cells of a table.

I use Adobe Photoshop to resize images. In the case of disproportionate images you can crop the images to the desired width/height ratio. You can also try https://picasaweb.google.com/ or download and install the software in your computer.

Gimp is one of the best free alternatives to Photoshop and the OP already has it.

@vtxyzzy, I know, but I have not used it. So, I cannot guide how to proportionately resize images using Gimp.

Thanks for the advice. What I was trying to do was adjust the images inside Media as I edited my pages. Perhaps I should create the images with the correct dimensions before uploading, using Gimp.

How do I "put the images in the cells of a table."?
    keeping with the same topic....

Another issue I have is with the TinyMCE Editor that comes with wordpress. Can I use this Editor to create tables that work or would you suggest another plugin?

    What do you use?

I chose CKEditor after searching for a better alternative than TinyMCE and it doesn't work. I posted this question in another post... no reply yet.

If CKEditor is not working for you, try the Ultimate TinyMCE plugin. It has table management icons.

I can't tell you why CKEditor is not working. The Ultimate TinyMCE plugin gives you many of the same capabilities as CKEditor.

I do know that other plugins can interfere with CKEditor. See this post for example:

I've already disabled CKEditor, activated Ultimate TinyMCE and am in the process of customizing it. Thanks for the incite. CKEditor has issues I don't have time to deal with.

About tables.... I want to try creating the table in the editor. I found this post "Dean's FCKEditor For WordPress". It Replaces the default WordPress editor with FCKeditor 2.4.3 By Dean Lee.

I want to try the Ultimate TinyMCE and get this thing done.

Whats the best way to create a table with images.

It should be easy...3 rows and 2 columns
image of a mailbox on left and text on right"post office runs"

If I create a table in MSWord, will it behave when I copy and paste it into the Editor?

Ultimate TinyMCE (UT) has table managing icons. By default, the table icon is on the fourth row between the Styles and Smiley icons. It looks like a table with a pencil over it.

Click the cursor in the post where you want the table and click the 'Add Table' icon. Configure the table as you like.
