How to make a Secret Page (2 posts)

I thought that making a page "Private" would make it so that no one saw it but the people with the direct link - but have discovered that it, instead, leads to an Error notice for anyone not logged in. I would like to have a page that only people with the link can see.
In one topic here I saw that there's a plug-in called Simply Hide Pages but when I clicked on it it said it hasn't been updated in over 2 years and it suggested there might be compatibility issues. Is there a better way to do this now?

    This is the site:

This the page I want to be hidden: http://www.feldenkraisarts.com/secret-qr-page/

    Thank you!

Actually, that is not how it works.

review 'anyone' in link given above. Also, the error is likely just your theme's 404.php file noting content not found? If not, please describe this error notice.

If the link exists, anyone can see it. Finding links within any site is fairly easy for the many who understand how to do so...

Review these two sites and the links they find when checking your site:

    Sucuri
    XML Sitemaps

Not to mention Spiders, Search Engines, and a throng of folks online looking for links to advantage...

There are many things that can be done to make content only available to those who need access to it, but first an important understanding of the concept of public v. private content is required.
