  • I’m new to WordPress – I have to convert an 8-page site to a WP template ASAP. Any suggestions on a quick way to do this.

I intend to digest the tutorials ASAP, but any suggestions on creative shortcuts would be greatly appreciated.

For what its worth, you can go here to view the site I need to transition the WP environment.

    Thanks much.

  • If you need it asap, I recommend that you hire a WP developer.
Of course you can do it yourself, but as a newby, you will have a steeper learning curve.
There are plugins to import content.
And there maybe tools to pull your site into WordPress, non come to mind.

WordPress is great but if you are really in a hurry, maybe you should try SquareSpace. They have automated ‘pull your old site into ours’ scripts and you can try them for a week for free.

Here’s one quick approach if you’re primary concern is content:
    1. Install WP on host
    2. Find basic template to use
    3. Create pages and paste content into pages

That should get you up and running in a few short hours.

Over time, add the missing components such as look and feel, imagery, and media. Relatively speaking, this does not seem like a very big job.

Not sure an auto-conversion would work well on your site since there are lots of formatting, plugins, and media throughout.
