how to maintain paragraph separations in excerpt

    Hi, is it possible to keep paragraph separations in the excerpt, either the WP automatic (preferred) or manually entered excerpts? I’ve tried <p>,
    and <table>, but these all seem to be stripped (whether used in the post itself or in the manual except field) …

    The separation of e.g., a salutation (Dear Reader, ) at the start of a post and the body (Today, we’re going to discuss …) of the post is important for the appearance and optimal reading of my content right from the start page (showing latest posts).
