how to look on module postions

    I need to make first site with modified template in WordPress, and I’m really stressed how to obtain module postions.

    In Joomla I have been using ?tp=1 after index.php

    My question is how I can look on the module positions. I want to look where I can put existing modules.

    I don’t know WordPress terminology , maybe I’m asking about ‘widget spaces’

    I believe modules are like widgets, yes.

    Widgets are contained within dynamic sidebars and can be accessed in the administration area under Appearance -> Widgets.

    If you look in the theme files, look for the function get_sidebar() within the page/post templates, check for any sidebars registered in functions.php, and the corresponding file(s) sidebar.php or sidebar-[name].php. These are (usually) dynamic sidebars that will use widgets.
