How to list related/categorized featured posts?

Hi. I’m running a pet blog, and using the Related Posts for wordpress plugins widget. I want to show related featured posts on the side bar widget.

• Show featured cat posts on all cat posts.
• Show featured dog posts on all dog posts.
• Don’t show featured dog posts on any cat posts.

This is my pet blog http://lazypetowner.com/cat-water-fountains/ What I can do now is just showing every featured posts on the sidebar widget, so dogs and cats are all showing up on cat post.

My current categories are like this:
Home
-Feeding
-Pooping
-Grooming
