When I do a Search or select Archive or a Category I get this long list of results all on one page. As my blog grows I can see how this will be a pain to have to scroll all the way down to see eveything (slowing loading time also). Is there a way to limit the results to say, 10 posts per page, but with a way to navigate to pages that contain additional responses to the search or archive/category list?

I’m thinking kind of like traditional search results on Google or Yahoo… you only get x number of results per page with a navigation bar on the bottom to see more.

By the way, I know how to change the results from “content” to “excerpt”, but even with excerpt I have a ton of responses.

    Thanks!

  • It means that the number of posts shown in admin > Options > Reading is too high for all the pages. Set it to a lower number.

Thanks moshu. I knew about the limit posts option but for some reason I didn’t think it was related to archive and search results, but I went back and changed it and that did the trick. Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Just for the sake of future searchers: the number set in Options > Reading is applied to ALL multipost views in your blog: index, archives, search etc.
