Support » Everything else WordPress » how to leave the Tag Cloud widget title blank

  • Hello. I need to be able to leave WordPress’s Tag Cloud widget title blank so that I can do more customization on my page. When I leave it blank, however, it defaults to “Categories” as a title. I tried using CSS to hide the title but it didn’t work. Is there a way to leave the Tag Cloud widget title totally blank instead of having it go to a default title? I would really appreciate some help with this. Thank you.

  • You can try a space, and if that doesn’t work, use   which is the HTML special character for non-breaking space.
Of course, doing that still takes up some vertical height. If you don’t want that, try again with the CSS, using your browser Dev Tools to find the class name that is specific to that widget, so you can put it as the selector of your CSS rule.

Hi Joy. Using   works, unless I re-save the page again afterward, for example if I work on something else on it. Then, I just need to re-do it, making sure it’s the last thing I save on the page. I had already tried using CSS with the dev tools to guide me but nothing I’d tried worked. I wish CSS had worked because if I re-save the page for another reason, the   trick gets undone. This widget just needs a built-in option to leave the widget title blank, by choice.

I appreciate your help, Joy. Thank you.
