Cpanel is part of the hosting – it’s not part of WP – so you will need to ask the hosting company for that information.

How do I know what’s my hosting company?
I tried using http://www.whois.net/ but it says “______.com.au not available”. So I’m not sure what that means.

Another thing, even after I know the hosting company and contacted them, how will they be sending the info to me? Through email associated with the website (admin’s email) or can i redirect it to my email?

Yes, I maybe have the option to ask the first person who made the website in the first place for the cpanel login details, but I can’t reach the person before me to ask for his contacts not until next week, and I kind of need to fix this by this week.

Whois should show where the site is hosted. What is the domain name?

    http://www.malaysiafest.com.au

but WHOIS said not available. I don’t get why? :/

    very awesome

WHOIS shows the site as not available becaue it’s already been registered. That’s a good thing for you.

As for finding otu who your hosting comapny is, get your accounts people to look through the invoices that they have that relate to web hosting. it should be pretty quick and easy to find who your hosting company is.

    Thank you.

So I’ve called said hosting company, but they told me I’m a client of a client of their’s. So I’ve emailed the client hosting company, but they said whoever set up the site purchased it from a reseller of their’s. And there’s no way they could give the information unless with the reseller’s approval or court order. But they couldn’t give me any info about the reseller for me to contact them, and I still can’t get in touch with the person who created the website.

The guy who would help me fix it said if I can’t get the cPanel login details, then I should at least try to get the FTP username and password? But would that require the same process, as in the info can only be given by the reseller who I don’t know who?

Is there still another option for me to get those information (either for cPanel or FTP)? Help. 🙁

    Sorry but no.

No one here has any influence over your hosting company. It’s frustrating but that’s just how it is.

Did you look at your invoices 5o see who’s charging you for the hosting? ???

We can’t help you unless you can help yourself.

I’ve texted my friend who keeps the invoices but I’m not sure whether he still have the invoices from 2 years ago (I hope he does), but I’m still waiting for his responses.

If it is as you said, now my only hope is to wait for the person who created the website to get in touch with me or wait until my treasurer respond with the invoices. :/

Thank you though for all the help. 🙂

Unfortunately, there’s nothing anyone here can do to help with this – hopefully the person who has the info replies.

I’ve forgot to update, after tracking the invoices and waited for reply those two finally lead me to the same person who has all the details and he helped me with it. By the way thanks a lot guys for the suggestions, it helped.
