Support » Plugin: Comments Like Dislike » How to know if theme comments support this plugin?

  • I see in the FAQ that you’ve said “Our plugin uses comment_text filter to append like and dislike icons . So if your active theme’s comments template doesn’t use comment_text filter to display comments text then our plugin won’t be able to display like and dislike icons.” I’m not seeing the like/dislike button after installing your plugin and enabling it, so I suspect this theme issue must be my problem, but your FAQ doesn’t tell me enough to determine what to actually look for to verify whether it’s using the comment_text filter. I’m using one of WP’s standard themes (Prime) and haven’t changed the commenting system so I’m not sure why this wouldn’t be configured the way you’re looking for. How do I know if my theme’s comment template uses the filter this plugin requires?

    Hello junktrunk,

    Thank you for contacting us.

You can check the comment_text filter in the comments template of your active theme which usually is comment.php file inside the theme. If the comments template uses comment_text function to display the comments text then our plugin should append the like dislike icons.

If you are not sure at all then you can ask for the support with the theme that you are currently using.

    Regards WPHC
