Support » Fixing WordPress » How to kill wordpress process

  • Hi,

I am using wordpress and have installed the below mentioned plugins. I checked the usage of RAM and it was 512 (Maximum provided by the hosting provider is also 512).

I check the PHP process in the cpanel and when ever I killed the process the RAM will be decrease but will automatically increase.

Can you please help me on how to keep the website with the available RAM.

Plugins installed are as mentioned below and theme used is the default buddypress theme.

      WP Job Manager
      Buddypress
      BuddyPress Job manager
      Another WordPress Classifieds Plugin (AWPCP)
      BuddyPress Activity Plus
      BuddyPress Security Check
      Disable Comments
      Display Widgets
      Global Hide Toolbar
      Image widget
      Remove Dashboard Access
      WP-Optimize
      Yoast SEO

It’s one of your plugins (or a conflict between two) or a theme function that’s eating up all of your RAM. WordPress itself can run fine under 32 MB.

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Hi,

Thank you for the reply. Please suggest me whether there is any plugin which can tell me which plugin is eating up all the the RAM.

BuddyPress can eat through a lot of server resources, especially on busy websites.

I’d recommend looking into caching plugins, so your site is no longer generating PHP pages from scratch each time someone visits your website.

    Hi,

I tried P3 plugin and below are the results. I found that the maximum runtime is used by classifieds and buddypress plugins.

    Buddypress:47%
    Classifieds:32%
    WP Job Manager: 3%
    Wordpress SEO: 12%
    Other 5%.

Please suggest whether there is any possibility of reducing the usage of these plugins.

Total plugins including must use plugings is 13
    Plugin Impact: 75%
Total number of database queries per visit is 52

    Hi Shane,

Do you mean it will goo to use the w3 cache plugin. If not, please suggest.

As BuddyPress is using the most, I recommend asking over at https://buddypress.org/support/
