  • My mobile site doesn’t seem right. I tried many times to deactivated all plugins and even deleted the mobile plugins, It was still not right.
    I just want my mobile site to be exactly the same as the desktop website. No different mobile version.

  • what theme are you using?

    I created child theme from Twenty Twelve. I tried switching to other themes but still didn’t get the same view on mobile.

    My understanding of the twenty twelve theme is that it uses responsive design. This is not something you can actually turn off as it’s how the framework of the theme is developed, so that boxes resize accordingly to the display width. I know you may not like the way it looks on a mobile version but it’s actually a better way to have a site programmed. It adapts to any screen size. If you don’t a responsive theme, then you will have to maybe switch to twenty eleven or find another theme.

    Thanks. That explains. But I really like the way my website looks. Hope there’s a way around.

    you could try deleting this out of your header –

    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width" />

    I am not totally sure if removing the viewport will stop it from adjusting on smaller screens but it’s worth a try. Otherwise you really have to restructure the layout, setting widths to fixed dimensions rather than max or min, etc. It would be easier to just downgrade themes but as I said above, the progression of web design is responsive design, so it’s best to keep in with the new and out with the old etc etc.

    Good luck!

    just wanted to say thanks! your solution worked for me, tried it with my twenty twelve child theme @ .
