How to keep a text box active

Hello WordPress.

I am trying to make it so that a text box always stays active. What I mean is that, for this instance I am using buddypress whats new form, when I click inside a form to make a post update, it opens a drop down where I can add pictures or music and click submit.

I want to make it so that is always active, meaning it doesn’t close up, so I can always see the add picture and submit button.

Hard to explain, but if anyone can understand and recommend a css code to use, that would be amazing! I was thinking something like :active or using the display function but I can’t see to make the form always display.
