  • So I downloaded the program and I attempted to save the file wp-config-sample.php. I read the readme file and I got stuck on step 4. What does it mean to upload everything? And what password are they speaking of in step 6?

  • “Upload” means open up your FTP client, access your server, and then upload all the files to the server. If you’re having trouble, you can look at this tutorial on using FileZilla, the recommended FTP client.

And what step 6? None of the installation guides have six steps…

Assuming you edited the wp-config-sample.php file correctly, and saved it as wp-config.php, then you need to use a ftp program, and upload all the files onto your server space. If you don’t have server space with a mysql database, then you’ll need to go find one and pay for hosting.

The PW that they speak of is a randomly generated PW that it wil give you so you can login afterwards.
