    Hello,

I just want to know the steps on inserting Google Adsense (ads) on a single post. Is it advisable to use a plugin for this, or if I refrain from using a plugin, how will I do it (manually)? Thank you.

  • Hi rbstodomingo. I don’t have any experience with ad plugins so don’t know how versatile they are for ad placement. If you wanted to do it manually then it depends on where you want to place the ad. If you want it embed it within the post content then you’d probably need a plugin like Shortcodes Ultimate and place the ad code in a text box shortcode. If you wanted to display it somewhere else on the post page then you could create a dynamic sidebar in Theme Options, add a text widget to it and drop the ad code in the widget. Then you’d copy the single.php file from the parent theme to a child theme and, wherever you want to display the ad, insert the php code to display the dynamic sidebar. Examples are shown on the Codex Dynamic Sidebar reference page.

    Hello @rbstodomingo

Maybe I can help you 🙂 You can use WP Advertize It to paste AdSense script there and then you can apply shortcode to page or post.

I always use AdSense for my article, esp. long article. You can apply multiple times like I did in this post.

Adi – looks like a good option. Thanks for sharing.

Yup Bdbrown, I use that plugin for managing my ads. Good plugin and simple to use.
