    Please post here for your theme specific question…

    Quick reply here..

    1)To add a favicon you need to have link in the header like this ..

    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="<?php get_template_directory_uri() ;?>./img/favicon.ico">
    here img/favicon.ico is the path to favicon..
    Use FTP to upload favicon to corresponding directory.

    2)You need to add some code in the header.php by creating child theme so that you don’t loose that when your theme updates..

    I did add this under the header template but it is not working

    <link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”<?php bloginfo(‘template_directory’); ?>http://www.exchangewarrior.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/favicon1.png” type=”image/x-icon” />

    link is incorrect , use this
    <link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”http://www.exchangewarrior.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/favicon1.png” type=”image/x-icon” />
    .
    also you are adding in the wrong place..this must be in between <head></head>
