How to Insert a Single Image into Post via Gutenberg?

    So I’m currently in the process of trying to learn the sheer hell that is the Gutenberg editor. Recently, I came across a problem that has never been an issue for the Classic Editor, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to do it in Gutenberg.

    Essentially what I want to do is simple. I want to insert a single picture (full size) from one of my NGG galleries into an article I’m writing, but there seems no obvious way to do it (in the classic editor it was easy, you just clicked ‘Add Media’ > ‘Nextgen Gallery’.. piece of cake).

    Either I’m being incredibly dumb (entirely possible) or NGG has lost one of its most useful features in Gutenberg?

    Hi @ispreview,

    That’s correct. The SinglePic feature will not work with Gutenberg as of now. The workaround that you may want to use is adding a simple paragraph Gutenberg module then add the SinglePic’s shortcode as described in this documentation article: https://www.imagely.com/docs/singlepic/

    The shortcode method doesn’t really work very well. You can’t see the image in the editor, so you don’t know what you’re looking at, and it seems to generate a div, a link and an imagine inside all of that, which is not the same thing.

    Is there any plan to add this feature to Gutenberg in NGG before the Classic Editor is retired in a year’s time?

    Thank you for bringing this question back to us.
    Yes! We already have that as a feature request and is in the hands of our developers.

    Please keep in mind that our developers need to address these new features in order of priority. We don’t have an estimated time of release. That will depend on our Product Owner’s vision of our product.

    umertin now recommends with gutenberg his new:
