How to increase file upload limit

    Greetings everyone.
    I’m getting to know WordPress, iyooo, I’m loving it! it’s super cool.
    the only stumbling block is the maximum file upload which is 2m for my site, this is too small!
    I’ve googled for solutions,I got couple of tuts, from editing php.ini, theme’s function, htaccess, but I’m still stuck with 2m as maximum file upload size.
    please help me with step by step tut, please somebody.
