Support » Fixing WordPress » How to include image in email notifications

  • Hi there,

I have been “playing” with WordPress for only a couple of months, and my question may be the one of a newbie, but I cannot find an answer for it.

I am moving a blog from wordpress.com to my own wordpress. Subscribers used to receive email notifications every time a post was published, and I would like the same thing to happen automatically in the new blog.

I have installed the Subscribe2 plugin, which seems to be doing a half decent job (not all subscribers seem to receive emails yet), but my main issue is that email do not contain any images.

All blog images links are set in the “post image” field in the post pages. I also set the thumbnail image links. But no images are actually linked to in the content of the posts.

How can I get images to appear in the email notifications for new posts? Is there a plugin that can do that for me?

Any help would be warmly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Gilles

On wordpress.com, I think that the email notification is done with jetPack.
You might want to install that plugin instead. You can find it at jetpack.me

Once activated you’ll see that you can set up post by email which I think is what you want.
