Support » Requests and Feedback » How to Improve search & filter search on wordpress

  • Hello Everyone, my overall experience looking for stuff on wordpress.org is really bad. It’s really time consuming to look for specific information here. In the forums I can’t easily search within a specific forum (in my case: networking wordpress forum). Likewise trying to find the right plugin is inefficient. There is no way of filtering the search results.
    Would have been so much easier to filter search results by i.e.:

    -> Tested with version
    -> Single or multisite compatible
    -> Active installations

    Is this on a road map somewhere?

    Thanks

    I don’t know if there’s a ticket for changing the main search (a custom Google search is used now), but the plugin search has a ticket: https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2753
    The devs were supposedly working on using Elastisearch but there hasn’t been any progress for quite some time.
    Add your comments on plugin search, and maybe open a new ticket for the main search.
