  • check version.php – you should be able to find it here:
    <your wp root>/wp-includes/version.php

An alternative would be to log in to your adminstrative panel, and scroll down to the bottom where the version number is printed.

If you’ve not removed the code, do a View Source on your web page. Look in the first 10 lines – it should be there.

1.6 is now called version 2.0 and very soon 🙂

btw. release candidate 1 of wp 2.0 (earlier known as 1.6) has just been announced:

thanks for your help. line ten says 1.5 so would you advise that i update to 1.5.2 asap?

if so, how do i do this?

during the adding and deleting of plugins over the past few months, my wordpress admin panel is slightly messed up. there’s a tag for a non existent poll plugin etc. how will the update be effected by this?

    thanks again.
