    Sorry folks, i am ashamed to ask this but I have been at it for about 14 hrs now with no luck.I have read a encyclopedia worth of help post to try to get this figured out, but every time i try it, I can not find the code on my php pages that they are asking me to modify.

    Here is the site
    http://www.alaskagoldhunters.com/index/

    All I want is the home text gone for good.I can design my own page layout and the “home” text is right in the way 🙁

    Seriously If i hadn’t tried this a million times, i wouldnt ask for help.

    No – it’s CSS. It belongs in your theme’s CSS. I’d suggest creating a child theme or using a custom CSS plugin for this,

    If you go for the custom CSS plugin, I recommend using the Jetpack plugin and its Custom CSS functionality to hold your CSS modifications.

    So, i can go into the main server files and go to my themes css and modify that file right? As far as creating a child theme or using a custom CSS plugin for this,I have no idea what that means.I have no coding experience so those sentences make no sense to me:(

    I would not recommend amending the current theme’s stylesheet as the changes will be lost when you update the theme. As Andrew suggested, have a look at the Jetpack plugin.

    Unfortunately making customisations that are not available by default will require coding. If you feel incapable of implementing this, you can hire someone at http://jobs.wordpress.net or live without that customisation 😉

    ok i will do that now.Thank guys ::)

    Ok so i figures it out with Jetpack and now im in the right area i think.This is what it looks like
    h1, .h1 {
    font-weight: normal;
    }
    h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, .h1, .h2, .h3, .h4, .h5, .h6 {
    color: #603913;
    font-family: ‘VollkornRegular’,Geneva,sans-serif;
    font-size: 40px;
    font-style: normal;
    font-variant: normal;
    letter-spacing: -2px;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    }
    * {
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    }
    #container2 {
    text-align: left;
    }
    body {
    text-align: center;
    }
    body {
    font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;
    font-size: 14px;
    line-height: 1.25;

    My question is where would i paste this code?

    body.home .storytitle {
    display_none}

    So, you should be in the Appearance → Edit CSS section
    http://jetpack.me/support/custom-css/

    Put Esmi’s recommended code right at the bottom, below other styles.

    I also have this inside the wordpress jetpack css editor

    body, #wpbody, .form-table .pre, .ui-autocomplete li a {
    color: #333333;
    }
    body {
    font-family: sans-serif;
    font-size: 12px;
    line-height: 1.4em;
    min-width: 600px;
    }
    html, body {
    height: 100%;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    }

    So not sure where to put the above code or if im way off all together.

    Put it right at the bottom, E.g;

    body, #wpbody, .form-table .pre, .ui-autocomplete li a {
    color: #333333;
    }
    body {
    font-family: sans-serif;
    font-size: 12px;
    line-height: 1.4em;
    min-width: 600px;
    }
    html, body {
    height: 100%;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    }
    body.home .storytitle {
    display_none}

    I though i was getting close but apparently its gonna take me another 10 hrs to figure this out. I past the code in the CSS Stylesheet Editor and nothing happens when i preview.Gonna watch some videos on it if i can find some.SOoooo close yet so far 🙁
