How to hide empty brand page

Sometimes all products from one brand are out of stock. In that case, the brand should not show up on the brands page. I don’t want to delete the brand page itself every time the products are out of stock and then recreate the brand when they are back. is there not a published/unpublished toggle somewhere or another way to hide “empty” brands meaning no products available?
