How to have main page static or sticky at top???

  • I have the latest wordpress installed my site is like

    mydomain.com/Blog

I want to have it that when people arrive at my blog

The first thing they see is like a static page but then underneath their will be recent posts.. best example i can give is this

    my-affiliate-programs.com

look at how he has the video and the text below the video.. that is all static its always there when you go to the site but below all that is

    Recent Site Updates:

he then has his posts, is this possible for me to do?

  • anyone comment on this please?

    eddy,

If I understand you correctly, you want to do what I’m considering. The top part of the page ‘stays’ where it is and then the blog format continues underneath it.

I think you might try coding the ‘page’ template to show your static stuff. I’m looking into this now…I’ll let you know what I figure out.

Have a look in the plugins from memory there is a plug called wp sticky or similar that may do the job. haven’t used it myself so you might like to let us know how it goes.
    Cheers
