Support » Fixing WordPress » How To have each page a blog

  • I have 1 wordpress website that consists of movie reviews, spoofs, movies coming out soon and a weekly game.

Each of those are different pages linked at the top.

I want to have each of those pages work as a blog. Like the categories section does. Is there a way to make the pages work like categories? Or to have the categories at the top instead of pages?

http://www.ronnieanddill.wordpress.com – here is where I am at so far.

  • The Blog In Blog plugin might work for you.

    Basic plan without plugin —

1)Assign each of your content types the appropriate category.

2)Change your permalink structure to custom. /%category%/%postname/

3)Assign the appropriate link to your menu item.

    Woops. There was a typo…

    /%category%/%postname/ should be /%category%/%postname%/

thanks… But how do i change my permalink structure?

The plugin will also let you exclude the categories from other places on the site which may be useful.

im not sure how to use plugin’s. I have not downloaded wordpress or used it for very long. I just create posts through wordpress.com

Sorry, I overlooked the fact that you are at WP.com. You cannot add plugins there.

Your best solution would really be putting them in their own category like kevinator12 stated but you can’t really change the structure of the permalinks so you can make a menu and go that route.

can I make a menu at the top with the categories so it looks similar to how the page is already formatted?

Yes. All the themes have menu support. Just add the pages/categories you want to be displayed.
