how to have a blog with a photoblog inside?

hi,
first of all thank you for the great work and thank you to this great community, the true free help is what the net is still offering !

First of all i would like to say that i am a beginner, an absolute beginner, then here it is my question :I like the blog structure a lot, category organizing, that s really cool, But i would like to have a photoblog too and those structures are not totally compatible, I mean, if the post is a photo (at least 800px) the layout for a textual post could appear not appropriate.

So

my idea was to change the layout (could be the change of a theme?) if the category or anything that can do that tells me that is a special post (i.e. a photo) and at the same have another layout ( maybe a theme), if the post is like a review about a movie or a game that i played and so on.
