Support » Plugin: Complianz | GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent » How to get Youtube blocking to work?

I have Youtube embeds, but even though cookies are blocked, the Youtube embeds still show up as usual and add cookies. How I can make Complianz block the Youtube videos? I’m using Gutenberg and embedding the videos with the core Youtube embed block.

Youtube doesn’t appear in the list of integrations on my site, and it wasn’t an option in the wizard, either. However, for example the page I’ve linked to here includes three Youtube video embeds.

Thanks, the plugin seems very solid otherwise.

It did find a bunch of cookies for inactive plugins or services I’ve used before but don’t use anymore. Where do these cookies come from? The site as it is definitely doesn’t set them.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @msaari,

You can find the Complianz YouTube integration under Integrations -> Services -> YouTube (not under Plugins).

You can also enable the YouTube integration via the wizard. You can do this under Wizard -> Cookies -> Integrations -> “Select the types of third party services you use on your site”.

Regarding the Cookie scan finding ‘old’ cookies, this is possible while Complianz scans your site using your browser. It then looks which cookies are placed in your browser. If you still have these ‘old’ cookies in your own browser, Complianz will detect them. You can prevent this by clearing cookies from your own browser, or delete the cookies from the ‘used cookies’ section in the Wizard -> cookies -> used cookies.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you need further help.

    Good luck,
    Leon

Please also check if you have answered “yes” on the question “Does your website use third party services?” in the wizard, on step “cookies/integrations”.

Youtube is considered a third party service, so only shows up if you have selected “yes” here.

Thanks. Not sure how I missed that, I think the the scan didn’t suggest Youtube on the first time I did the wizard for some reason. Now it listed it there.

Now everything works really well. Awesome work with the plugin and excellent and fast support. Well done, I’ll be using Complianz on all my sites and will recommend it to everyone looking for a nice solution to this problem.

Just posted a 5-star review – being a plugin developer myself I know how great it is to get good reviews. =D
