well, where are the wp files stored? If they are stored in a folder called wordpress, this might explain it.
Yes, they are in a folder named WordPress. Is there any way I can change this?
So what you really want is to have anyone who inputs ieatpeople.com wind up at your blog? Right?
The Giving WordPress its own directory article in the codex should help you.
If this is what he wants, I’ve got the .htaccess stuff he can use….
Yep, works well. I run my WordPress install outta a subfolder so that I can easier manage my files. Works well. 🙂
Well, if you input http://www.ieatpeople.com , you will end up at my blog but the URL states, “http://ieatpeople.com/WordPress/”. It’s not really that big of a deal, but I would like it to just display “www.ieatpeople.com.”

Again, read this:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory
It’ll allow you to have your WordPress files in /WordPress/
while running your blog at your root.
Example: I run my blog at http://www.viper007bond.com/ and my WordPress files are located at http://www.viper007bond.com/wordpress/
That’s good. Did you look at the references people posted for you?
nev’mind…. wrong thread…. *sigh*
Possibly unrelated, yet related question: when posting links to the codex in support threads, would one think it is best to post it as a hyperlink, like I did above or just as the URI as Viper007Bond did?
I think it’s a personal choice thing…. I use the brackets etc. if I have the ref handy, otherwise I go dig around and use the whole addy.
Brackets?? I’ve always gone and found the codex page and just pasted the URI, is there an easier way??
I just always forget how to do the shortcut.
